Your ICAN Board Meeting Review
January 2007
Your ICAN Board Meeting Review 1-15-08
The ICAN Board of Directors is initiating two new offerings to the industry media that will give ICAN members further opportunities to keep their names before information seekers in the cleaning field.
1) ICAN is negotiating with CMM to introduce the placement of rotating banner ads on the ATEX feature. The ads would spotlight various ICAN members and will alternate during the day with an ad for new members. This will provide greater exposure for all ICAN associates.
2) ICAN is seeking to provide an ICAN-CIMS Tip of the Week to ISSA and possibly Contracting Profits magazine, the official ISSA journal for contractors. This, if accepted, will give all ICAN members an opportunity to contribute to the feature and present themselves as management consultants, if they wish.
ICAN still needs additional Board members, and is seeking new members to help with the increasing writing responsibilities coming our way.
On the ICAN site, watch for a new Cleantalk Forum open to all, and a blog-type section where members can conduct their own individual conversations with others in the industry.
December 2007
The ICAN Board held its Monthly Meeting on December 3 by conference call.
Again, it was suggested that any who wish to serve on the Board should notify the Board of their intentions.
Much discussion focused on the ICAN Website and how it can be revised to better reflect the interests and services of all members.
Two major items suggested and approved by the Board should be of interest:
1) It is recommended that each current member post a description of his or her ideal customer on the site so that other members can make referrals to those with expertise in a given area. This networking would benefit all.
2) The Board approved posting a one-page listing of each current member s products and services along with their information on the site. Go to your information page and make the additions you wish.
Other adjustments to the site are being discussed and will be implemented as time allows.
The Board thanks all for their support for the Networking Luncheon and on the showroom floor.
October 25, 2007
The ICAN Board held its Annual Board Meeting on October 25 in Orlando at the ISSA-INTERCLEAN®-USA trade show.
After over two years of service on the Board, Perry Shimanoff resigned his position. The Board thanked him for his assistance and asked Bill Griffin to serve as Treasurer until new Board members volunteer.
It was suggested that any who wish to serve on the Board, do so now, so that new officers can be selected after December 31.
Allen Rathey discussed with the Board several matters such as a website revision and aligning ICAN members more closely with ISSA in promoting the CIMS program.
Look for press releases to the trade media about ICAN's involvement in the recent ISSA event. The Board thanks all for their support for the Networking Luncheon and on the showroom floor.
Present were Lynn Krafft, Perry Shimanoff and Bill Griffin
Respectfully submitted, Lynn E. Krafft, Board Secretary

September 2007
The meeting of September 10 accepted the resignation of long-time Board Member, Gary Penrod. We have appreciated his contributions. A board position is now open and all members are invited to consider volunteering for service. Anyone interested should contact the Board Secretary.
The Board continues its efforts to find a Communications-Membership Director for ICAN. The Board has reviewed the essential duties and has presented them to one candidate to see if there is a match.
The ISSA-IntercleanŽ event is approaching rapidly, with October 23 just over a month away. The Board has invited all members to consider volunteering to spend some time in the ICAN booth, sit in on the luncheon roundtable discussion as moderators, and join the audience at the 11.30 Ask The Experts Panel Discussion on Friday of the show.
The ICAN Annual Corporation Meeting will also be held at ISSA, so all should keep an eye on the listserv for details on the time and place.
Anyone wishing to prepare printed material for the ICAN booth should do so.
Respectfully submitted, Lynn E. Krafft, Board Secretary
